Volunteers Needed for Nebraska Dental Association’s Annual Nebraska Mission of Mercy
Dental and non-dental professionals required to make the event successful
Area Rotary Clubs Are Seeking to Provide 200 Volunteers!!

July 10-11 2009, the Nebraska Dental Association (NDA) will once again host its annual Nebraska Mission of Mercy. Organizers anticipate they will provide free dental care to nearly 2,000 men, women and children during the two-day event.

The organization is currently in need of volunteers – the key to the event’s success. Dental professionals (including general dentists, specialists, assistants, hygienists and office workers) are needed, in addition to non-dental volunteers that will help with paperwork, serve food, usher patients, translate and direct parking/traffic. Volunteers will be asked to help with either 6 a.m. - noon or noon – 6 p.m. shifts. The event will be held at Papillion-La Vista South High School (10799 Highway 370 in Papillion, Nebraska).

“We predict we will provide nearly $1 million in free dental services through Nebraska Mission of Mercy,” said Dr. Brett Thomsen, one of the event’s co-chairs. “We can’t do it without the help of volunteers and we encourage everyone to donate their time and expertise. It is truly a rewarding event.”
